New Year’s Eve Apps and Desserts to Knock Your Socks Off

I guess my New Year’s resolution could be to blog more, write fresh posts and become the next latest and greatest thing on the blogosphere, but that’s just not gonna happen. I am totally a blog when I feel like it kind of girl and lately I just haven’t felt it. I’m sure I’ll get in the mood sometime soon…but until then, I have a New Year’s Eve or Day Round Up, if you need some ideas.

These little tartlets are filled with brie, a sauteed apple compote and a touch of honey. They are the world’s easiest and fastest eaten appetizer, and you can choose to make them with the slummin’ it Crescent Roll dough or fancy it up a bit with pie crust (frozen or homemade)…either way, it is a guaranteed HIT!

img_7626 How about making these Cheddar Chive Biscuits, but in mini version, along side this crazy addicting tomato jam? Perhaps serve it with thin slices of pork tenderloin tucked inside or even better yet, some slices of Filet Mignon…oh heavens.

Or, if your guests are staying to the wee hours of the morning, perhaps these Mini Bacon and Chive Frittatas would be smashing along side a cool Bloody Mary.

To get your healthier eating resolution started one day early, my recommendation for a fancy schmancy dessert that won’t tip the scale, would be my Dark Chocolate Fallen Cake with Balsamic Cherry Sauce. It’s honestly fairly easy to make, is from Cooking Light and has never, ever and I mean ever, not made guests swoon. In fact I am bringing it to a party tonight because I am truly a believer in the wow factor of this amazing cake.

If you would rather booze up your dessert, then you have come to the right place my friends. My Devil’s Food Cointreau Cupcakes might make you pass out and feel a little tipsy, and they are oh so rich and addicting. You will be the hit of the party with these easy to make mini cupcakes.

If you prefer your night and dessert a little on the spicier side, then you must make these individual Winter Spiced Molten Chocolate CakesWith some white pepper and cardamom, these little cakes are sure to ring in the New Year with a little extra fanfare.

Enjoy the New Year, celebrate wisely and Keep comin’ back now and then and stop in to see if I’ve gotten back into the swing of things with blogging.  May all of you and yours have a very healthy, happy and peace filled New Year.
