I must start with this heavenly bread first. Because it is the bread of all breads, would be the crowning glory to any Easter Brunch table and is soft and tender and filled with a pillowy tart lemon curd and a tangy cream cheese spread. One bite is complete perfection and makes your eyes roll back and your heart skip a beat. Scouts honor.

Irish Whiskey Bread Pudding: How Good Intentions Go Awry
The road to he!! is paved with good intentions. That’s what my grandmother used to tell me now and then. Perhaps it was a hint. Basically, it means that individuals may do bad things even though they intend the results to be good. I look back and think, maybe I was a little bit of a wild card then. I sure hope so. I really haven’t sowed any wild oats in the last 30 years or so—unless you count this Irish Whiskey Bread Pudding.
British Inspired Jam Scones and Cucumber Tea Sandwiches
Typical Saturday morning at my house: Five a.m. rolls around, and my eyes slowly open up to glance casually at the clock. BIG MISTAKE! Once my eyelids move, my Golden Retriever, Sadie, trots over to my side and sits down, waiting to be petted or scratched. If I don’t acquiesce quickly enough, she begins scratching herself or biting at a paw and jingling her maniacal collar until am I forced to pet her, hoping it will quiet her down. Continue reading
A Counterfeit Tiramisu—No Cooking Involved—For those Scorching Summer Days
Hi All,
I need some help out there from some tech-savvy bloggers. My blog has recently been copied (about 50 posts in total) at another location. I have contacted the host, Siteground.com, and they want a slew of personal information from me that I am not willing to give in order to take down the fake site. Any ideas out there? It infuriates me that this fake site is selling ad space which notice that I don’t. Any ideas how to get it down? Even my pics have been pinned from this site and lead there!
Thank you!
I am currently going on a little trip so I have left you all with a re-post of this very appropos “no bake” Tiramisu.
A Little Tipsy Cherry Chocolate Brownies {Low-Cal/Low-Fat …ish}
I was more than honored that Raymund from Ang Sarap asked me to guest post on his blog. If you haven’t met Raymund or his tantalizing array of food, then you have sadly missed out. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to make to feature on his blog, but I finally landed on these Cherry Chocolate Brownies with bit of Brandy. They are lower in calories and fat than your typical brownies but still crazy rich and chocolatey and they definitely have an added zing from the brandy. And like any good brandy, these sweet treats actually get better with age. Let them sit in their gooey splendor, brandy adequately getting to permeate throughout it, and you will be one very happy camper.

An Easter Parade…Foodie Style!

April Fool’s Faux Fries and A Chocolate Chipped, Orange Zested Pound Cake Ticket to Crazy Place
Hi All,
Since April Fool’s Day is around the corner, I thought I would repost this since it is a doozy, tastes YUM and will definitely fool anyone you serve them to. Make sure to stop by your local fast food joint and ask if you can take one of the little ketchup cups when you buy a soda or something, it really helps with the whole look of the fake fries. Happy fooling! —Love, Geni
I can’t do anything normally, the obvious way, the “exactly according to the recipe” way. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes it doesn’t. Today it worked; really, really worked.
Let’s start at the beginning, shall we? I am a fool for April Fool’s Day. We celebrate big time over here and we even have had an April Fool’s Day birthday party since my daughter, Zoie, was born in early April (Sorry Grace, I believe you were the one who had the first piece of the mashed potato frosted meatloaf birthday “cake”). A Lemon Sooful Sit-In {Perfectly Tart Lemon Souffles}
I am a fairly casual person and am most comfortable in jeans, eating homemade macaroni and cheese, baking good ol’ chocolate chip cookies and not having someone scrape crumbs of the crisp white table cloth while “I dine”. Don’t get into my chocolate preferences though because my whole theory on my own unpretentiousness just may sail right on out the window.
A Valentine’s Day Round Up
I know, us foodie bloggers tend to over-do the holidays. I just may be the biggest culprit of all. But, since we are all in the same red hearted boat my friends, I have decided to do a round up BECAUSE I have found some gorgeous and tantalizing things out there, and perhaps you have not run across these posts of perfection so here they are…red, hearted and delish!
Cali from Offally Tasty knocked my socks of with these Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies. I need to see how I can work them into my life between today and Tuesday and you should too!
Pear Fritters Have Sunk My Battleship
I know this must come as a great shock to you, but pear fritters are not the answer to your diet dilemma. They are made with whole milk, deep fried and then rolled in sugar. Does that not scream diet food? In all seriousness though, these fritters are some heavenly cross between funnel cake from the fair (c’mon you know you love it), and a deliciously airy homemade doughnut. These particular fried delights are elevated a touch as they are full of gingered pears and have a touch of lemon zest.
