A Fly on the Wall and A Light-ish Lemon Leek Linguine to Start the Year Right


Not many food blogs include a fly in the title. I guess I am just special that way. Doesn’t it spawn an immediate interest in my tantalizing lemon linguine, no? Ah well. One can never say I am too sophisticated for my own good over here at Sweet and Crumby. This lemon linguine is definitely something to swoon  drool over (can we all vow to stop using the word swoon for 2013?)

All For One and One for All – Three Musketeers Birthday Cupcakes

My son requested a Three Musketeers’ flavored birthday cake for his family birthday dinner recently.  He turned 17 this month…that is absolutely one of the craziest things I have heard in awhile.

Where has the time gone? Most of us find ourselves saying that now and again, especially as we watch our children grow. That is the running theme in my head like a song that is stuck playing over and over again. Tears almost trickle down, but yet I am happy. Everything is good. Really good. Continue reading

Dodging the Pork Roast and Sweet Potato Biscuit Bullet

Last night we were eating an apricot glazed pork tenderloin roast and the most beautifully soft and lightly sweet biscuits I have ever tasted.  Missing from our table was a household staple of red meat and Russet potatoes.

You see, we were eating without my teenage son who is a total red blooded, red meat eating carnivore of a teenager who is sure that french fries and french fries alone are the solution to any vegetable question (his biggest stretch is baked white potatoes…seriously). Continue reading
