How to Roast a Turkey Breast {Technically half a turkey breast}

Where is your happy place? What is the one thing in the world that can pick you up out of a slump and place you on solid ground? It’s important that you know yours and that you can summon it up on any given day when life is more than a little topsy turvy. There are too many moments that can throw you for a loop so please, if there is one take away from this post, research your happy place and know how to reach it at a moment’s notice. It is essential.

Apple Insanity

I miss you all and yes, my blogging has been on the back burner friends. For those of you who know me and miss me and have been sending me messages, thank you so much. It’s very nice to know that I have been missed. Life has been more than a jumble this last summer, and I just can’t get myself to write new posts as of yet or even peruse other blogs.  Please don’t take my lack of commenting on your blogs personally.

Someday soon, hopefully,  Geni will get her groove back (yes, sometimes I refer to myself in the third person, but it’s just one of the oddities that makes me, me). But until then…I believe in sending you re-posts and reminders of deliciousness gone by. Because many of you have not been here for some of these taste bud teasing and pleasing posts. Until later my friends!

Love, Geni

I MUST start with my Apple and Mustard Glazed Pork Tenderloin with Apple Cider Biscuits, because this one post has brought Pinning glory to my blog and usually comes with rave reviews from my “adoring fans”. 🙂 This meal is literally Fall on a plate and it’s healthy, easy and pleases any dinner guest guaranteed.

An Almost Grasshopper Pie Parfait

Life has its share of epic fails, and so does my kitchen unfortunately.  Cakes can just flat out refuse to come out of their pans, omelets will stage a sit-in and end up as scrambled cheesy eggs, and sometimes, Grasshopper Pies turn into parfaits.

Jealousy and a Fully Booked Tomato Tart

My heirloom tomato tart and I have sort of a love hate relationship going on.  It is delicious, ridiculously simple to make and looks like a million bucks…see?

Easy Peasy Cream Puffs

If you’re anything like me, you are taking a look at these pretty little cream puffs and thinking, “Yum, but way too much work.” The truth is you were half correct in your thinking. They are definitely yum but they are actually fairly easy, with a very short list of ingredients that you likely have in the house.

Balsamic Dark Cherry Sauce Over Fallen Chocolate Cake

A Sweet and Crumby Instant Replay because sometimes Life happens.

Have you ever fallen…

crazily in love?

down, way down, with no glimpse of the sky?

literally, into a mud puddle, or down a flight of stairs or simply between the cracks?…

This devastatingly rich, chocolate cake, too, has fallen, but it was designed to fall. Cakes are one of those few things that can be meant to fall.  Unlike people, this cake falls perfectly into a rich and soulful plate of splendor. Continue reading

Keeping the Aloha Spirit Alive with my Chocolate Mac-Nut Pie

Yes, I have just gotten back from Hawaii, Maui to be exact, and am completely in the Aloha frame of mind. I am still mentally sipping on Mai Tais, humming “Tiny Bubbles”, and trying so very hard to keep that relaxed, casual vibe going.

Berry Bran and Flax Seed Muffins with the Sweet and Crumby Stamp of Approval

I kid you not, these muffins are scrumptious. They are not one iota dry or tough and they have oodles of bran and ground flax seed so you truly can’t go wrong here. If you were ever going to give a healthy type berry muffin with oat bran and ground flax seeds a go, wouldn’t you want to try one that has been given the Sweet and Crumby (S&C) stamp of approval? Wouldn’t you want it to taste bad to the bone but be oh so angelic?
